Mia Farlane will be talking about her literary heritage and introducing her mother Marilyn Duckworth’s fifth novel, Disorderly Conduct (Hodder and Stoughton), winner of the New Zealand Book Award in 1985. Livestreamed to Lille’s public library, Mia and I will be reading a scene from chapter 2. Mia will be reading the French translation that she did in collaboration with Christelle Didier. I’ll be reading the original, in English.
