Bilingual Reading from Marilyn Duckworth’s Disorderly Conduct

Lecture bilingue du bout du monde avec Mia Farlane et Kristen Phillips — Bibliothèque Municipale de Lille, France.

For a nationwide library event in France, ‘les Nuits de la lecture’ Mia Farlane and I were invited to read (en français and in English) from Marilyn Duckworth’s novel Disorderly Conduct (NZ Book Award for Fiction, 1984).

Thank you, Christelle Didier, for help with the translation. Et un grand merci to the Bibliothèque Municipale de Lille for inviting Mia and me to read.

Mia also spoke briefly about growing up with a mother who is a writer - and about her poet aunt Fleur Adcock and writer grandmother, Irene Adcock.

Here's a link to the Lille library page where you can find the 15-minute video, as well as links to my book review of The Hobbit by Tolkien and Mia’s review of Auē by Becky Manawatu.
